"The candle was to be 3.5 but it was a little bigger and didn’t fit in the candle holder. So I had to shave some of the candle off to fit into the candle holder. The candle holder was made for that size candle. The candle had the outside coating, and it was double out, which made it too thick to fit into the candle holder."

"This is a beautiful candle. It really bothers me though that this was sent as a replacement for one that was clearly defective before being sent. It was upside down in the box with a broken wick. "I ordered a birch wrapped candle and it was defective and the replacement candle was also defective. The candles were mailed in a paper mailer, with no protection other than the box the candle is in. The box had damage on the corners which affected the delicate components on the candle. When I tried to return it, I was told that the order number didn’t exist. I gave up and kept the second candle even tho it does not flicker…it just stays permanently lit. When I tried to return it, they told me that my candle was no longer under warranty. I had the candle a total of five days. Yeah it was a pretty disappointing experience."
"I actually returned these Birch Wood candles because I felt they did not look at all like the picture on the website. They looked very "fake", Instead, I purchased the "Real Bark Pillar" ones and I am 100% satisfied."
"Disappointed in the way the birchwood was attached to the wax candle. There is a very evident gap between the edges of the birchwood and a prominent line of the adhesive used. It looks like a homemade craft project and not an expensive candle. Additionally, the birchwood exterior on one of the candles (I purchased two birchwood candles) has so many large completely black areas that it looks like it came from a burnt tree. I understand that some dark areas are natural but the amount of it on one candle in particular, is completely unattractive and does not look like the photos shown on the description page."
