When you turn on your Luminara candle, the batteries send power to a coil inside that generates a magnetic field. A second magnet interacts with the magnetic field to produce random movement for the flame piece.

"There are many knock-offs, but these are the best quality even though pricey and durable, my only complaint is that there should be one universal remote for all their products. I’m disabled and a remote is a must if I want more or less than the Timer hours. I have so many remotes and have to go through so many until I get the right one. Such clutter!"
Wrong candle sent
"I really like the luminara flameless candles so ordered a 6. 5”, 5. 5”, and 4. 5” candle for my daughter-in-law. However, when I received my order, the 4. 5” candle was a different shade and was a rechargeable candle. They look different. I emailed the company with my order number to let them know that I was disappointed in not getting the three matching candles, and wanted the one I ordered. I was told to go through this complicated process on their website of initiating a return due to receipt of a defective candle, even though I got the wrong candle, not a defective candle. I’m pretty tech literate, but this return page was so inapplicable to my situation that I said forget it, and I just tried to order the 4. 5” candle again. It is out of stock, which makes me wonder if it was already out of stock when my order was being filled, and was sent a different product without explanation. Anyway, it’s frustrating. I feel the customer service response was lacking."
