When you turn on your Luminara candle, the batteries send power to a coil inside that generates a magnetic field. A second magnet interacts with the magnetic field to produce random movement for the flame piece.

"I was very happy with this product at first. I turned it on and I enjoyed having it on twenty four hours a day. After a few days it shut off. Then it no longer worked properly. In the timer off mode, it would shut off in ten minutes. Also in the timer on Mode, it only lasted about ten minutes. I do not like timers on candles. If I want it turned on, I will turn it on and if I want it off , I will turn it off. Very disappointed after spending eighty dollars for A candle. 🫤"
